First GSA Community Meeting! -- Wednesday, Sept 28th at 3:30pm

Greetings All Graduate and Doctoral Students!

This is a friendly reminder that TODAY is your Graduate Student Association’s FIRST COMMUNITY MEETING! 

Wednesday, September 38th at 3:30pm in Student Union Parliamentary Room 

(2nd floor, Honors College side of building)

Think of this as an opportunity to step into the University Community, as tailored specifically to YOU. 

Remember, we’re not just another student organization who’s sole motivation is tailgating and socializing (though we can arrange some of that if you want!) — we are an association who’s primary goal is to foster a synergistic graduate culture and provide enhanced career preparation and professional development.

We really hope you can make it tomorrow so that we can:

1. Get to know you (and so you can meet others too!), and 
2. Hear from you on what you’d like to see happen this year

--------Don’t forget, we are your direct line of communication to the administration (in other words, we have the ear of the Dean), so all viable suggestions will be passed along for serious consideration. --------

Here is what you can expect at tomorrow’s meeting:

• Announcing Prep Your Vote: Election Education Series — register to vote, attend relevant lectures by leading MTSU faculty, and participate in or attend a debate on issues important to you and our nation
• Accepting nominations for Executive Treasurer position, Committee Chairs/members, and Delegates from each department
• Regular Social Events — Happy Hour Hangouts, Bowling nights, Wine Tasting Events, Multicultural Mixers...we want your suggestions!
• Regular Volunteer opportunities
• Announcing Open Table Forum — every Wednesday 9am-2pm at Starbucks (location subject to change)
• Professional Development Workshops — we’re working with Tuesdays at Ingram and LT&ITC to create more opportunities!
• End-of-meeting Open Floor — everyone can feel free to voice their ideas and concerns regarding legislation, University resources, professional development, career preparation, social activities, etc.

Please come out and take part in directing YOUR Graduate Student Association into the most effective resource for you!
